Animal Energy Used for Work Calculator
Energy Used for Work Formula
Extra Energy Used for Work (\( E \)):
\[ E = A \cdot F \cdot M + B \cdot F \cdot L + \frac{W}{C} + \frac{9.81 \cdot H \cdot M}{D} \]
Where:
- \( E \) is the extra energy used for work, in kilojoules (kJ).
- \( A \) is the energy used to move 1 kg of body weight 1 m horizontally, in joules (J).
- \( F \) is the distance travelled, in kilometers (km).
- \( M \) is the liveweight, in kilograms (kg).
- \( L \) is the load carried, in kilograms (kg).
- \( B \) is the energy used to move 1 kg of applied load 1 m horizontally, in joules (J).
- \( W \) is the work done in pulling load, in kilojoules (kJ).
- \( C \) is the efficiency of doing mechanical work, as a decimal.
- \( H \) is the distance moved vertically upwards, in kilometers (km).
- \( D \) is the efficiency of raising body weight, as a decimal.
