• \( FCR \) is the weight of fuel, in kilograms per hour (kg/hr).
• \( Qa \) is the actual heat required, in kilocalories per hour (kCal/hr).
• \( \xi_g \) is the efficiency of the gasifier, as a decimal.
• \( HVf \) is the heating value of the fuel, in kilocalories per kilogram (kCal/kg).
