Where:
- \( Q \) is the discharge, in cubic meters per second (m³/sec).
- \( C \) is the coefficient dependent on the nature of the crest and approach condition.
- \( A \) is the cross-sectional area of the orifice, in square meters (m²).
- \( g \) is the acceleration due to gravity, approximately 9.81 m/sec² (or 32.2 ft/sec²).
- \( h \) is the height (depth) of water from the surface down to the orifice area, in meters (m).
