- \( C \) is the coefficient of roughness.
- \( L \) is the length of the crest, in meters (m).
- \( h \) is the depth of water, in meters (m).
- \( g \) is the acceleration due to gravity, approximately 9.81 m/sec² (or 32.2 ft/sec²).
