Wind Turbine Rotor Shaft Power Calculator

Rotor Shaft Power Formula

Power at the Rotor Shaft (\( P_{\text{shaft}} = C_p \cdot \frac{1}{2} \cdot \rho \cdot A \cdot V^3 \)):

Where:

  • \( P_{\text{shaft}} \) is the power at the rotor shaft, in watts (W).
  • \( C_p \) is the power coefficient, typically between 0.17 and 0.47.
  • \( \rho \) is the air density, 1.25 kg/m³.
  • \( A \) is the rotor area, in square meters (m²).
  • \( V \) is the wind velocity, in meters per second (m/s).
