Wire Size Selection Calculator
Wire Size Formula
Wire Size (A):
\[ A = \frac{10.8 \cdot Nw \cdot L \cdot I}{Vd \cdot E} \]
Where:
- \(A\) is the area of the wire in circular mills.
- \(Nw\) is the number of wires.
- \(L\) is the length of the wire in feet (ft).
- \(I\) is the current flowing in amperes (A).
- \(Vd\) is the allowable voltage drop (decimal, typically 0.02).
- \(E\) is the voltage in volts (V).
